Services for Nora Mae McCarty, of Ruth, are 2 p.m. Monday, Feb.15, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Brookhaven, withburial in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawrence County.Catchings Funeral Home in McComb is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service atthe church.

Mrs. McCarty, 85, died Feb. 9, 2010, at her residence. She lived inRuth for 18 years and was a former resident of New Orleans, La. Shewas born in Van Cleave on Oct. 24, 1924, to Guss McCarty and MaryLou Brundidge McCarty.

She was a retired hotel cook, and a member of Kingdom Hall ofJehovah’s Witnesses.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and her son, ErnestWilliams.

Survivors are her son, Alfred Williams, of Miami, Fla.; herdaughters, Lorraine Gras, of Ruth, Elnora Ruffin, of Dallas, Texas,Geraldine Howard, of Ruth, and Linda Montgomery, of Houston, Texas;and her 60 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
