Jesse Alexander

Services for Jesse Alexander, of Jayess, were held at 2 p.m. onWednesday, Feb. 10, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jayess,with burial in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Services wasin charge of arrangements.

Mr. Alexander, 70, died Feb. 7, 2010, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on Feb. 24,1939, to Clayton Alexander and Leslie Robins Alexander.

He was a retired oilfield motorman. He was a member of CalvaryUnited Pentecostal Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a wife; a brother and asister.

Survivors are his wife, Jean Alexander, of Jayess; his son,Phillip Alexander and companion Joellen Dillon; his daughter, WandaMiller and husband Kim; his stepdaughter, Angela Dunnaway andhusband Dewayne; his brother, Randolph Alexander and wife Linda;his sisters, Willie Ruth Thornhill, and Jo Thornhill and husbandCarol; his grandchildren, Candi, Heather, Deanna, Corey and Justin;his stepgrandchildren, Ashley, Zane and Zachary; twogreat-grandchildren, Hope and Cane; and his great-stepgrandchild,Keegan.

Addie M. Bryant Smith

Services for Addie M. Bryant Smith, of Toledo, Ohio, were 1 p.m.Saturday, Feb. 6, at Greater St. Mary’s M.B. Church in Toledo withburial in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. C. Brown Funeral Home was incharge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith, 72, died Feb. 1, 2010. She was born in Brookhaven onJan. 17, 1938, to Lemuel Bryant and Estine Davis Bryant.

She was a graduate of Alexander High School. She was a member ofGreater St. Mary’s M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her brother, EstusL. Bryant.

Survivors are her husband, McBee Smith Jr., of Toledo; hersister, Paulette Bryant, of Brookhaven; her sisters-in-law, EmmaBryant, of Brookhaven, Laverne Estes, of Richmond, Calif., Annie B.Baker, of San Leandro, Calif., and Celestine Jordan, of BlueIsland, Ill.; her brothers-in-law, James Smith and wife, Virgie, ofToledo, J.Q.A. Smith and Hertis Smith and wife, Mildred, all ofMadison, Wis., and Earl Smith, of Park Forest, Ill.; hergoddaughter, Treveror King and husband, Montriese; 18 nieces; 10nephews; her special cousin and caregiver, Katie Davis and husband,Willie; and many other loving relatives and friends.
