Shed fire lights up neighborhood

Equipment and all-terrain vehicles, among other things, werelost in a shed fire on West Meadowbrook Saturday night, firedepartment officials said.
Brookhaven Fire Chief Tony Weeks said the tool and equipment shedbehind 113 West Meadowbrook was engulfed in flames when hisfirefighters arrived on scene.
“From what I gather, it was just fully involved when they gotthere,” he said.
The fire was called in around 10 p.m. by nearby watchful eyes,Weeks said.
“The report I got was that SilverCross Nursing Home personnel sawit across the field,” he said. “And from that perspective, youcould really see it burning.”
The shed was full of tools, equipment, and flammable liquids, Weekssaid. It was a total loss.
Officials said the homeowners were not home at the time of theblaze. The home at that address belongs to Brenda Foster.
Weeks said there is no way of telling what caused the fire at thispoint.
“It’s kind of hard to tell in there the way that thing burned,” hesaid.
No one was injured in the fire.
