Services for Pauline B. Robbins, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.,Saturday, Feb. 27, at Bethel Temple Pentecostal Church, with burialin Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Robbins, 76, died Feb. 24, 2010, at Mississippi BaptistMemorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born on Dec. 8, 1933, to OtisC. Britt and Effie Gill Britt.
She was a member of Bethel Temple Pentecostal Church.
Pauline Robbins or Polly, as she was known to her friends, filledher days with love and service to those around her. She laboredunder the title of an in-home caregiver, but this would better fitas her calling than her job. Her life, in a word, was passion.Whether it was her passion for traveling to exotic places, herunwavering commitment to her friends, or her passion for the Godshe served. Polly had a special word for her friends. She calledthem “people I know” for to know Polly was to have a friend. Wethank God today for three of these friends, which have proven to besoul companions: Loretta Callender, Mary Bennett and BobGibson.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ottis A.Robbins; a brother, Odis C. Britt Jr.; her stepbrother, RonnieSeay; and a stepdaughter, Debra Robbins.
Survivors include her sons, Bobby Dale Criswell, of San Antonio,Texas; her stepsons, Ottis Lee Robbins, of Tylertown, and CurtisDale Robbins, of Brookhaven; her daughter, Sandy Terry, of Wesson;her stepsister, Sherry Jones, of Vidalia, La.; her aunt, ExaHudson, of Wesson; her sister-in-law, Lola Britt Henserling, ofWesson; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
