Robert Ewell Cooper, 68, of Pearl, died Feb. 28, 2010, at hisresidence. A private family service will be held at a later date,with burial at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland.

Mr. Cooper was born in Macon, on July 27, 1941. He was a longtimeresident of Pearl, but did spend a great deal of time inBrookhaven. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Millsaps College,and his master’s degree and specialist training from MississippiCollege. Mr. Cooper taught English at Chastain Middle School formore than 30 years until his retirement in 1995.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewell Joseph and LeliaAnnette Brashears Cooper.

He is survived by his brothers, Edwin Cooper and wife Kathy, ofTupelo, and George Cooper and wife Becky, of Jackson; and numerousnieces and nephews.
