Franklin County girls crush Ole Brook

The Franklin County Lady Bulldogs posted a 15-1 win over thehost Brookhaven Lady Panthers in fastpitch softball actionThursday.

The Bulldogs exploded for 8 runs in the second inning then added 4in the third and 3 in the fourth before the Panthers scored theirrun.

“We just made too many mistakes,” said Brookhaven head coach ChadWalker.

Singling for Brookhaven were Sarah Ayers and Emily Freeman.

Destiney Dedeaux fanned 9 batters and struck out 4 for the win.Brooke Hosick struckout 2 and walked 6 in the loss.

“We put the ball in play,” said Franklin County head coach DanaSmith. “We played good defense. Destiney Dedeaux pitched a goodgame for us. Brookhaven has a good team. I expect to see them dobetter as the season progresses.”

Morgan Knapp doubled twice and singled for Franklin County. Dedeauxdoubled and singled twice. Kacey Smith ripped a double and asingle. Doubling was Emily Zumbro. Destiney Buie singled twice.Karlee Mullins hit safely.

In JV Action, Brookhaven beat Franklin County 8-7. BHS was lead byEmily Freeman with a triple and a single. Mandy Jackson alsocollected a single for Brookhaven. Franklin County received singlesfrom Abby Graves and Courtney Hauer.
