Three arrests made in Feb. truck burglary

Three arrests have been made in a burglary and the theft of atruck stolen and dumped in the Bogue Chitto River in mid-February,authorities said.
Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said Corey Lee Coughlan, 17,was arrested Monday and charged with burglary and grand larceny. Inaddition, Adam C. Porter, 19, of 1373 Highway 51 North, was chargedwith burglary and grand larceny, but he was already in jail onseparate trespassing charges.
A 16-year-old juvenile is also charged in the case.
“Corey is 17 but will be charged as an adult, but the 16-year-oldjuvenile will go through youth court,” Rushing said Tuesday. “Wegot the information yesterday morning, and we started with it fromthere, interviewing them all.”
Coughlan and the juvenile were then apprehended at theirhomes.
The three are charged in the burglary of a white 2006 ChevroletC-1500 pickup truck that was stolen from Premiere Pump and Supplyon Highway 550 in February. There was also a safe taken from thebusiness.
The truck was recovered the next day in the Bogue Chitto River inPike County on Alford Bridge Road. Rushing said the safe has notyet been recovered, though his investigators have information thatit is also in the water.
“The safe has been thrown in the river too, though not in the sameplace as the truck, so it has not been recovered at this time,” hesaid.
The three suspects do not look to be suspects in any other localcrimes at this time, Rushing said.
“And there are no other suspects,” he said. “We’re going to try tolocate the safe, but we have to figure out which river they dumpedit in.”
