Officials said when firefighters arrived on the scene, the fire hadjust broken through the roof in the back part of the structure.Members of Hog Chain and Zetus VFDs entered the home and were ableto contain the blaze.

“The first units arrived and found the fire had already ventedthrough the roof, so they went inside, made an interior attack andstopped the fire where it was when they arrived,” Hart said. “Theydid an outstanding job.”

Hart said the structure will be a total loss, but that about 50percent of the home only really took smoke damage.

“It was a total loss to the structure, but the actual fire damagewas contained to the north end of the house to the children’sbedrooms and the utility room,” he said.

The owners of the mobile home, identified by sheriff’s departmentofficials as Bobby and Lonnie Moore, were out of town overnight,Hart said, so no one was home at the time the blaze started.

Members of Hog Chain, Zetus, Bogue Chitto and East Lincoln firedepartments were on the scene for several hours, with the lastunits leaving about 11:45 a.m. to insure against rekindling.

Officials said the sheriff’s office is doing a routineinvestigation to determine the cause.
