Herbert Lee Boyte

Services for Herbert Lee Boyte, of Roxie, are 10 a.m. Wednesday,March 17, at Roxie Baptist Church, with burial in Roxie CityCemetery. The Revs. Vann Windom and Ron Ball will officiate.Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Wednesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of theservice.

Mr. Boyte, 82, died March 13, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Franklin County on July 10, 1927, to William Earl Boyte andAnnie Louise Combs Boyte.

He was retired from International Paper Co. in Natchez. He was amember of Union Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran andserved in the Korean War.

Preceding him in death were his parents

He is survived by his brother, Arthur Leon Boyte, of Roxie.

Pallbearers are Elton Bolin, Richard L. Boyte Jr., Joe Howell,Jason Madere and Preston Madere.

Maxine Adams Buie

Services for Maxine Adams Buie, of the Caseyville community, are 10a.m. Wednesday, March 17, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel onNatchez Drive, with burial in Union Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Buie, 80, passed away peacefully with her family by her sideon March 14, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center inBrookhaven. She was born in Union Church on May 15, 1929, to RobertO. Adams Sr. and Velma Covington Adams.

She was a homemaker and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church atCaseyville. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother andgreat-grandmother. She loved pretty things, her home, her flowersand her ceramics. But most of all, she loved her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, Roger DaleAdams; and her brothers-in-law, Prentiss Buie and JessieWagoner.

Survivors are her husband of 63 years, Wilton H. Buie, ofCaseyville; her daughters, Sandra Fauver and husband, Albert, andShelia McFadden and husband Steve, all of Brookhaven; hergrandchildren, Sonya and Pat Phelps, Shannon and Karla Fauver, ofBrookhaven, Shelley and Alvin Guidry, of Kodohome, La., ShawnMcFadden and Brandy Freeman, of McComb, and Sherrie and Rob Welch,of Brandon; her great-grandchildren, Lauren and Daniel Parson,Austin and Chloe Phelps, Nathaniel and Nicholas Fauver, Ethan, Lukeand Colin Guidry, Brooklyn McFadden and Talon Welch; hergreat-great-grandchildren, Tucker and Levi Parson; her sisters andbrothers-in-law, Joyce and Dennis Herrington, of Heidelberg, andDianne and Joe Carroll, of Baker, La.; her brother, Bobby Adams, ofChurch Hill; her brother-in-law and his wife, Elmer Lee and RubyBuie; her sisters-in-law, Maggie B. Weed, Merle Buie and FrancisGrissom; and a host of nieces and nephews, whom she lovedgreatly.

Pallbearers are Shannon Fauver, Shawn McFadden, Pat Phelps, RonnieHerron, Lee Buie and Rob Welch.

Lucille Juanita Adams Dixon

Services for Lucille Juanita Adams Dixon, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m., Thursday, March 18, at Mt. Wade Baptist Church, with burialin Hillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven. Williams Mortuary is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the church. Familyhour is from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mrs. Dixon, 81, died March 10, 2010, at her residence. She was bornin Brookhaven on Feb. 6, 1929, to Louis Adams Sr. and Edna DiggsAdams.

She attended Gulledge School and Alexander High School. She was afaithful member of Mt. Wade Baptist Church. She founded the JollyGiant Club in 1970, and was a faithful member and president until2004. She worked for Tom and Sue Moak for 26 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a child; a grandson, A.Kenneth Dixon Jr.; a granddaughter, Ebone’ Yoko Dixon; herbrothers, Melvin Adams, Albert Adams and Clifton Adams; hersisters, Prescious Reed and Lillie Mae Rucks; two sisters-in-law;and one brother-in-law.

Survivors are her husband of 61 years, Alve Lee Dixon, ofBrookhaven; her sons, A. Kenneth Dixon Sr., Frederick Dixon Sr. andMarcus Dixon, of San Francisco, Calif., Talmon Dixon, of Chicopee,Ma., and Vincient Dixon, of Brookhaven; her daughters, DeborahHawkins, of New Orleans, La., Marilyn Richardson, Laura Dillon, MaeCarolyn Dixon, Argie Dixon and Sherry Merchant and husband Robert,of Brookhaven, Joan Dixon, of Dallas, Texas, and Stephanie Loring,of Byram; her brother, Louis Adams Jr. and wife, Shirley, ofHouston, Texas; her sister, Lena Mae Smith Henderson, ofBrookhaven; her 28 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and onegreat-great-grandchild; her six sisters-in-law; twobrothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.

Helen Ray Montgomery

Services for Helen Ray Montgomery, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, March 17, at New Sight Baptist Church, with burial inNew Sight Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the church, and onWednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Montgomery, 84, died March 14, 2010, at Brook Manor NursingCenter. She was born in Brookhaven on Nov. 7, 1925, to Isom Walkerand Katie Case Walker.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Sight Baptist Church,where she was a member of the WMU and a former Sunday schoolteacher.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Alcus J. Montgomery, of Brookhaven; hersons, Harrell Montgomery and wife Vera, and Carroll Montgomery, allof Brookhaven; her daughter, Dianne Ashmore and husband Wayne, ofBrookhaven; her grandchildren, Kim Leoffler and husband Layne, ofConway, S.C., Chad Ashmore and wife Kristy, of Magee, and LaurenThomas and husband, Evan, of Liberty; and her great-grandchildren,Hattie Grace and Jack Ashmore, Shaylee Lambert, and Connor andKaitlyn Leoffler.

Charles Ray Smith

Services for Charles Ray Smith, of Bogue Chitto, are 10 a.m.Wednesday, March 17, at Calvary Baptist Church in Brookhaven, withburial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service isin charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Smith, 67, died March 14, 2010, at Mississippi Baptist MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born on Feb. 26, 1943, to Tom Smith andLou Mae Smith.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brothers, Larmarand O.D. Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Martha Ann Smith; his sons, Jeffrey Smith,and Toby Ashley and wife, Billie Ann; his sisters, Ruby Lofton andGladys Lofton; and his grandchildren, Garrett Ashley, and Annaliseand Alexis Smith.

The family requests that memorials be made to Calvary BaptistChurch Building Fund.
