BOGUE CHITTO – Travis Leggett ripped a home run, a double and asingle Saturday afternoon to lead the Enterprise Yellow Jackets ina 14-8 win against the Bogue Chitto Bobcats in varsity baseballaction.

Enterprise (2-5) visits Region 6-2A rival Loyd Star Tuesday for adoubleheader. The junior varsity game begins at 5 p.m. followed bythe varsity at 7.

“We played well early,” said Enterprise coach Cass Brister. “Weswung the bats well. But I was not happy with our defense late inthe game.”

The Jackets committed 5 errors. They raced to a 12-0, third-inninglead before the Bobcats regrouped.

“We started slow,” said Bogue Chitto coach Jody Britt. “We showedsome fight later in the game. Enterprise hit the ball well land wecouldn’t keep up with them.”

Garrett Greer got the win on the mound with 5 strikeouts and 4walks. Working in relief was Zach Stafford with 1 strikeout and nowalks.

Absorbing the loss was pitcher Brock Roberts with no strikeouts and5 walks. Also seeing action was Michael Martin with 8 strikeoutsand 1 walk.

Josh Nations and Greer both smashed a homer and a single for theJackets. Stafford doubled.

Pacing the Bobcats with a double and a single apiece were ColtonMcClendon, Zach Avants and Shaun Wallace.

Enterprise clipped Bogue Chitto 4-2 in the JV game.
