Brookhaven shuts out Forest Hill

Senior southpaw Brandon Foster pitched the Brookhaven Panthersto a 17-0 Tuesday shutout of Forest Hill’s Patriots in Region 5-5Abaseball action. It was the 20th career victory for Foster whorecorded a 2-hitter, including six strikeouts and one walk in theabbreviated 4-inning game.
The Panthers (10-3, 3-0) remained unbeaten in region play. Theytravel to West Jones Thursday for a single varsity game, startingat 7 p.m. The Panthers host Petal Saturday on Moyer Field, startingat noon with a JV game. The varsity starts at 2 p.m.
“Brandon recorded his 20th career win in high school baseball,”said Spring. “That’s certainly a big accomplishment. He’s a toughcompetitor.”
Brice Huckaby homered and doubled, sparking BHS in a 9-run secondinning. He finished with three RBIs.
Scottie Peavey accounted for four RBIs with a single and a double.Andrew Culver hit a 2-RBI triple. Gabe Wilson singled twice anddrove in two runs. Elliott McKee singled twice. Foster was creditedwith two RBIs.
