Keene, Jolly spark Brookhaven Academy to district win

Christian Keene smashed a home run, a double and a singleThursday night to power host Brookhaven Academy to an 11-0 District4 AA win over Columbia Academy in a battle between Cougar baseballteams.
BA (15-5, 6-0) are the district champs. Tonight, BA entertains UCSfor two games, beginning at 5 p.m. with the junior varsity. CA,coached by Scott Dale, falls to 6-8 overall and 4-4 in districtplay.
“Tripp Jolly did a good job for us,” said BA first-year head coachCasey Edwards. “I’m proud of the guys. Offensively, we swung thebats better tonight than Tuesday.
Jolly struck out 12 batters, walked none and hit one batter. NickSanders took the loss with 2 strikeouts, no walks and 2 hitsbatters. Also seeing action was D.B. Mitchell with 1 strikeout and1 walk.
Contributing to the BA win with a pair of doubles and a single wasJolly. Will Gatlin doubled twice. Collecting a double each wereBrent Henderson and Hunter Franklin. Hunter McCullough, TylerParvin, Jacob Phillips and Donovan Lorraine hit safely.
Hunter Rayborn doubled for CA’s only hit.
Junior varsity action
BA knocked off CA 6-2. Leading BA at the plate with 3 singles wasGage Posey. Will Lucas singled twice. Matthew Evans, LandonNettles, Tanner Parvin and Newt Riley singled.
Raybourn paced CA with a triple. Peanut Hill doubled followed byDrew McElroy with a single.
