Banquet honors BA athletes

The Brookhaven Academy Athletic Banquet was held Monday night atthe Lincoln Civic Center. Athletes were recognized in all sportsexcept baseball and golf, which are currently in their respectivestate playoffs. Those titles will be announced at a laterdate.
Making a special appearance was Callie Cole who has made greatprogress since her automobile accident last September. Cole wasnamed MVP in fastpitch softball and permanent team captain on thegirls basketball team. Cole, along with BA’s football team,received a standing ovation from the large crowd.
Also receiving Most Valuable Player honors were Terah Winborne,girls basketball, girls tennis, slowpitch softball; Will Hickman,boys tennis; Jake Reed, boys basketball; Summer Calhoun, girlssoccer; Myles Melancon, boys soccer and Chandler Rogers,football.
Jamison Powell, Will Gatlin and Landen Peairs were honored with theCougar Award.
