Services for Martha Ann Sykes, of Allen, Texas, and a formerresident of Lucien, are 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Lucien BaptistChurch in Franklin County, with burial in the church cemetery.Brookhaven Funeral Home on North Jackson Street is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of theservice.

Mrs. Sykes, 74, died May 10, 2010, in McKinney. She was born inFranklin County on April 30, 1936, to Judd Pickering and RhodaSmith Pickering.

She was a retired nurse technician at King’s Daughters Hospital inBrookhaven. She was a member of Central Baptist Church inBrookhaven.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Willie B.Sykes; her sisters, Lois Smith, Josephine Turnage, Audrey Sykes andMary Ruth Smith; and her brothers, Barney Pickering and RoyPickering.

Survivors are her son, Terry Sykes and wife Cathy, of Ft. Collins,Colo.; her daughters, Sheila Kyzar and husband Leslie, of Allen,and Sharon Sykes, of Burns Flat, Okla.; her brothers, JamesPickering, of Lucien, Gene Pickering, of Jackson, and J.E.Pickering, of Shucktown; and her six grandchildren and sevengreat-grandchildren.
