Mr. and Mrs. James Richard Hooton Jr. of Bryant, Ark., announcethe engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, NicoleLeigh Hooton, to Christopher Landon Magee.

He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Danny Landon Magee, of Brandon.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Richard Hooton Sr.,of McKenzie, Tenn., and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Darryl Messer, ofLittle Rock, Ark.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Ralph Smith, ofBrookhaven, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lamar Magee, ofBrookhaven.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Bryant High School in Bryant,Ark. She received her bachelor’s degree in Speech CommunicationDisorders in 2008 and was granted a Master of Speech LanguagePathology on May 8, 2010, from the University of Central Arkansasin Conway, Ark. She will begin work this June at the NoxubeeGeneral Hospital in Macon, Miss.

The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Brandon High School inBrandon. He graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi StateUniversity in 2010 with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science.He is currently a second-year veterinary student at MississippiState University and will receive the Doctor of Veterinary Medicinedegree in 2013.

Wedding vows will be exchanged on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at theSt. Regis Event Center in Bryant. A reception will follow theceremony.

The couple will reside in Starkville.
