Romans 14:7 (NIV) reads “For the kingdom of God is not a matterof eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in theHoly Spirit.” Luke 10:20 (NIV) reads, “However, do not rejoice thatthe spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are writtenin heaven.”

Special thanks to Sister Irma Powell of St. Mark M.B. Church forserving as the mistress of service for the first spring cantata andplay at Damascus Church that was held on April 25. The acting,costumes and performances were great.

Children were Myla Harvey for Scene 1 and theend; Laterrica Wells for Scene 2; and Takeria Newsome for Scene 3.The choir for the Passover Psalm was directed by the Rev. ShannonWebb. The musicians were the Rev. Shannon Webb, Earl Webb andJessica Webb. Choir members consisted of Darlene Leggett, AshleyLeggett, Renee Blue, Linda K. Rancifer, Mekissa Webb, AliciaLeggett, Brichelle Black, Deacon Michael Harvey and Minister WillieFaye Webb. There was a reception given in the fellowship hall foreveryone’s enjoyment.
Brookhaven High School Principal, Dr. Jay Smith, sponsors, staffmembers and students, I truly enjoyed the presentation of theproduction, “Footloose,” and I would like the following people toknow: the cast and supporting cast, the choir and dancers, themusicians, the directors and production staff – you all did anexcellent job portraying each of your characters. I was not boredat any time and I appreciate you all for keeping it lively. Keepgoing in God’s speed.
Heartfelt sympathy is extended to the Johnson family in the loss oftheir loved one, Charles “Chuck” Johnson, of Loyd Star, and to thefamily of Georgia Mae Tillman Smith.
Special prayers are extended to all sick and shut-ins. May God’slove, comfort and mercy be with each of you.
