Funeral services for Calvin Newton Ellis Sr., of Brookhaven, are10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, at Riverwood Family FuneralService Chapel, with burial in New Augusta Cemetery in NewAugusta.

Visitation is Wednesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Ellis, 77, died June 7, 2010, at Mississippi Baptist MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born in New Augusta on Jan. 29, 1933, toAriel Wall Ellis and Alma Grace Adams Ellis.

He was retired from the Country Peddler. He was a veteran of theUnited States Army, and a member of First Baptist Church ofBrookhaven. He was a lifetime member of the Lions Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers.

Survivors are his wife, Joyce Ellis; his sons, Larry Keith Ellis,Robert Bruce Ellis and Calvin Newton Ellis Jr.; his brothers, ArielEllis and Carl Ellis; his sisters, Grace Farlow and VandyDickerson; and his seven grandchildren and fivegreat-grandchildren.
