Funeral services for Dorothy Ready, of McComb, are 10 a.m. onThursday, June 17, at First United Pentecostal Church in McComb,with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Terry Ballard and theRev. Jerry Terrell will officiate. Jones Family Funeral Services inMcComb is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church, and onThursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Ready, 71, died June 14, 2010, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. She was born on June 22, 1938,in Magnolia, to Earnest and Zellie Jenkins Phelps.

Sister Ready was a homemaker and a longtime pastor’s wife. She alsoloved to sew. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Sheand her husband founded Liberty Pentecostal Church in 1976.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, the Rev. JohnReady; her brother, Billy Phelps; and her sisters, Rosalee Mote andPatricia Jasper.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and CarolynReady of Brookhaven, and the Rev. Curtis and Judy Ready of Liberty;her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Faye Phelps ofColumbia, Obie and Brenda Phelps of Magnolia, and Earl Phelps ofHattiesburg; her sisters and brother-in-law, Rena Dreeszen, ofClarksville, Tenn., and Carolyn and Wayne Brooks, of Tylertown; hergrandchildren, Jeff Ready of Brookhaven, Nicole Miller of Frisco,Texas, Jackie Ready of Smithdale, Cody Ready and Levi Ready ofLiberty; and her great-grandchildren, Bella and Ben Ready, Harrisonand Carson Miller, Makennah Smith, and Kaitlyn Wages.

Pallbearers are Cody Ready, Levi Ready, Jeff Ready, Jimmy Phelps,Johnny Mote, and James Steele.
