Funeral services for Allen Odem Rushing, of Bogue Chitto, were11 a.m. on Friday, June 18, at Johnson Grove Church of Christ inBrookhaven, with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rushing, 74, died June 15, 2010, at his residence. He wasborn on July 29, 1935, to Clarence W. Rushing and Zula RobertsRushing.

He was a retired milk salesman. He served in the United StatesArmy from 1958 until 1960 and was stationed in Germany. He was amember of Johnson Grove Church of Christ. He was a member of theBogue Chitto Masonic Lodge No. 0260.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Elvin(Punk) Rushing; and one grandson, Scott Johnston Jr.

Survivors are his devoted wife of 38 years, Marlene DunnRushing; his sons, Doyle Rushing, Darrell Rushing and wife Janis,Darrin Rushing and wife Joanie, and Scotty Johnston and wifeSondra; his daughters, Sherry Jordan and husband Carlos, and KathiEasley and husband Roger; his brother, Oscar Rushing and wifeVirginia; his grandchildren, Chad and Dustin Jordan, AmberHaralson, Rod, Corey and Keri Easley, Brett and Erin Rushing, andJosh, Blake, Karlee and Kayla Beth Rushing; his sixgreat-grandchildren; his nephew, Bryan Rushing; his niece, VeronicaEdmonds; a special aunt, Loney Sykes; and a special friend whom heloved like a son, Pete Wright.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Johnson GroveChurch of Christ, 665 Auburn Dr. SW, Brookhaven MS 39601.
