Donis Montgomery Walker Bennett, of San Diego, Calif., passedaway on June 19, 2010. Her interment will be at Fort RosecransNational Cemetery in San Diego.

Mrs. Bennett was born in Brookhaven on June 7, 1921, to Oliver andDolly Brister Montgomery.

She attended Bogue Chitto School and was valedictorian of her classin 1938. She was also a star athlete there and at Copiah-LincolnJunior College. Preceding her in death were her parents; and herfirst husband, Laverne Walker, also a native of Brookhaven.

Survivors are her husband, Bob Bennett, of San Diego; her sons, RoyWalker and John Walker; and her cousin, J.E. Brister, ofBrookhaven.
