Services for Joel David Rutter, 32, were held at Laird Funeral Homein Natchez, Miss., on Friday, July 2, 2010.

David was born Nov. 8, 1977, in Adams County, the son of EliseWalden Smith and Jody Rutter, of Natchez.

Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Chancery Judge FrankWalden and Dr. Mel Rutter.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents; his stepparents, LesSmith and Vickie Rutter; his maternal grandmother, Beverly Walden,of Brookhaven; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Rutter, ofNatchez; and his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was a summa cum laude graduate of Mississippi College inClinton. He wrote and recorded music, was a photographer and alover of wildlife. Among his hobbies were chess and paintball.
