Suspect sought in shooting at apts. Saturday

Police are searching for a suspect in a Saturday night shootingthat left a Brookhaven woman injured.

Brookhaven Police Chief Pap Henderson said Nesha Burnett received agunshot wound when a man shot through her window at NorthavenApartments sometime around 9 p.m. Saturday.

Henderson said police know who they’re looking for in theattack.

“The suspect is her boyfriend or her ex-boyfriend,” Henderson saidMonday. “We’re trying to locate him now.”

Burnett was taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center by ambulance,where she was treated and released. An unknown person at the scenewas treated for a cut on the foot after stepping in someglass.

Henderson said since the annexation, there has been more activityat the Northaven Apartments, which are located at the corner ofUnion Street Extension and Industrial Park Road.

“I’ll just continue to put my officers over there,” Henderson said.”I’ll make it so every time they come out of their apartmentsthey’re looking a police car in the mouth.”
