Funeral services for Barbara Faye Hall Allred, of Summit, were 10a.m. on Thursday, July 29, at Adams United Methodist Church inSummit, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation was held atthe church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.Visitation was also held on Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at thefuneral home. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive was incharge of arrangements.
Mrs. Allred, 67, departed this earth and stepped into the arms ofher Lord and Savior Jesus on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at HospiceMinistries in Ridgeland after fighting a courageous battle againstbreast cancer. She was born in Brookhaven on Aug. 26, 1942, toVersie Lee Hall Sr. and Lucy Case Hall.
She was valedictorian of her high school class at Bogue Chitto in1961 and then attended Whitworth College. She married the love ofher life, Dennis, in 1962. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeperin her husband’s construction business. She was a member of BethanyWorld Prayer Center, located in Baton Rouge, La.
A devout Christian, Mrs. Allred never failed to share the love ofher Savior with everyone she came in contact with and trulyradiated the love and compassion of God. She was an inspiration anda role model of faith, compassion and love. She was a devoted wifeand mother and was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by allwho knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors are her beloved husband of 47 years, Dennis JeraldAllred, of Summit; her daughters, Tracey Denise Laird and husband,Mike, of Brookhaven, Kimberly Lynn Bartusek and husband, Tim, ofBrandon, and Deadra Ann Kight and husband, Tyson, of Summit; hergrandchildren, Megan Marie Bartusek, Brian Michael Laird, EmileeAnn Bartusek, Brennan Dennis Laird, Keith Scott Boyd, Lana HaileeBoyd and Titus Haiden Kight; her sister, Gay Leggett; her brothers,Ray Hall and wife, Audrey, Tim Hall, and Versie Hall Jr. and wife,Regina; her brother-in-law, Thomas Allred and wife, Jeannie; and anumber of nieces, nephews, and very dear friends.
