Reynold Harvey Fairweather

Reynold Harvey Fairweather, 81, of Bismarck, N.D., was called tohis eternal home on Saturday, July 31, 2010.
Reynold was born to Edward and Anna (Vestre) Fairweather in ruralSouris, N.D., on July 23, 1929. He was reared and attended countryschool in the area and graduated from Souris High School in 1948.Following graduation, he worked on the family farm and onneighboring farms while attending classes at Minot StateUniversity. In December 1950, he entered the United States Navy andserved his country for four years. His last post was in Charleston,S.C., where he met the love of his life, Barbara Walsh. They wereunited in marriage on March 27, 1954, and recently celebrated their56th wedding anniversary.
Reynold, better known as “Red” to his friends, worked in thehardwood business as a plant manager in Brunswick, Ga. He workedfor a few years as manager of the Bottineau Fertilizer Plant beforemoving to Brookhaven where he lived for nearly 30 years and wasemployed with Monticello Hardwoods.
Reynold was an active member of Brookhaven’s Episcopal Church ofthe Redeemer and served in many capacities within the church. Oneof his passions was helping in Angel’s Attic, a secondhand storesponsored by the church. His strong faith was an inspiration to hischildren.
Known affectionately as “Daddy” to his children and “Papa” to hisgrandchildren and great-grandchildren, Reynold was the light of hischildren’s lives. He entertained his family with songs, limericksand humorous sayings. He enjoyed hunting with his friends inBrookhaven and was an avid supporter of the MinnesotaVikings.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his son, Rick Fairweather andwife, Valerie, of Atlantic Beach, Fla., Patricia Hadding andhusband, Tommy, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Vicki Johnson and husband,Mike (Chip), of Aurora, Colo., Mary Jane Fairweather Marsh, ofFargo, N.D., Susan Hiatt and husband, Rick of Bottineau, N.D.,Brother Floyd Fairweather, of Minot and sister, Betty Lou Schindlerand husband, Milo, of Rapid City, S.D.; grandchildren Brad Larson,Andy Marsh, Lynley Esposito, April Baumgartner, Jennifer Klich,Shawn Larson, Alison Hiatt, Meghan Marsh, Michael Cowan, ChadJohnson, Matthew Hiatt and Garrett Marsh; and great-grandchildren,Payton Esposito, Dallas Esposito, Baleigh Baumgartner, EvangelineLarson, Weston Klich; one nephew; one niece; and numerous cousinsand special friends that touched his life including Mayda, Austinand Alayna Channell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and hisgrandson, Nathan.
