Memorial services for Emily Climo Lancaster, 92, of Brookhaven,who died Aug. 2, 2010, at the Magnolia House in Natchez, will be 11a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at the Episcopal Church of theRedeemer in Brookhaven.

Mrs. Lancaster was born Aug. 13, 1917, in Wakefield, Mass., thedaughter of John and Emily Mills Climo. She was the fifth of 10children. She is preceded in death by her parents; and one son,Rictor Lancaster.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in home economics fromFramingham College for Women in Massachusetts. She earned amaster’s degree in secondary science from East Texas StateUniversity and her specialist’s degree in botany from theUniversity of Arkansas.

Mrs. Lancaster started teaching at the age of 42 and taught atArkansas High School in Texarkana, Ark., Eldorado High School inEldorado, Ark., and Russellville High School in Russellville, Ark.She retired after 26 years of teaching in public schools.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Ruth Clanton, of Brookhaven;two sons, Phil Lancaster, of Texas, and Tom Lancaster, of Arkansas;one son-in-law, Doug Clanton, of Brookhaven; one daughter-in-law,Alison Moore, of Texas; one sister, Alice Climo Abbott, of Florida;eight grandchildren, John Paul, Donald Edward, Amanda, DeShuana,Clinton, Louise, Jeremy and Marie; and four great-grandchildren,Dajon, Taylor, Jazzman and Zack.
