Homegoing services for Margie Annie Norton Lenard, a resident ofthe Caseyville community in Lincoln County, are 11 a.m. on Friday,Aug. 6, 2010, at First United Pentecostal Church on Sylvarena Roadin Wesson, with burial at Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal ChurchCemetery. Community Funeral Services is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church and againon Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Services willbe conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Lloyd G. Thompson.

Mrs. Lenard, 85, entered into eternal rest on Aug. 3, 2010. She wasborn on Sept. 23, 1924, to Joe Robert Norton Sr. and Mary OllieFalvey Norton. She was married to Garfield Lenard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, GarfieldLenard; her sister, Marie N. Moore; and her brothers, Carlos Nortonand Charles Norton.

She is survived by her brothers, Joe Norton Jr. and Jack Norton, ofWesson, and James Norton, of Byram; her sisters, Josie Moak andCleo Watkins, of Wesson, Charlotte Loper and Bonnie Leach, ofJackson, Geneva Plunkette, of Pleasant Hill, and Carolyn Millwood,of Starkville; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, ThelmaRollins and Linda Smith.

Margie was born the third child of 13 and had many challenges onearth. She was a nurse for more than 20 years, working at WhitfieldState Hospital and King’s Daughters Hospital. She was very devotedto her large, extended family. She loved people and never met astranger. She loved her Lord and was not ashamed to share her faithwith all she met.

She often made the statement, “God is going to take care of me!”And He did!
