BC’s Lady Cats whip Wesson

WESSON – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats crushed the Wesson LadyCobras 8-1 Monday night in slowpitch softball action.

“We hit the ball really well tonight,” said Bogue Chitto head coachScott Leggett. “Defensively, we played well. We took away severalhits from them.”

The Lady Cats (8-1) will host the Franklin County Lady BulldogsThursday. Wesson will entertained the West Lincoln Lady BearsThursday. Game time is set with JV at 5, followed by varsity at 6p.m.

BC 8, Wesson 1

Kerri McGehee pitched the win for Bogue Chitto, collecting nostrikeouts and allowing no walks.

Jessica Delaney absorbed the loss for the Cobras. She had threestrikeouts and two walks.

Josie Porter led the Cats offensive attack with a triple and asingle. Darcy Miller contributed a double and a single. RheaganWelch hit three singles. Adrienne Wallace and Alexis Givensprovided two singles apiece. Hitting safely were Mattie Avants,Bradi Davis and McGehee.

Summer Rials led Wesson with two singles. Hanna Brown and ChristianWoods collected a single apiece.

In JV action, Bogue Chitto slipped by the Cobras 8-7. Shelby Crosby(5-0) pitched the win for BC, collecting one strikeout and twowalks.

Christian Black led the BC attack with a triple and a single.Hailey Estess and Colby Kirkland also contributed with two singlesapiece. Hitting safely were Heather Miller, Brooke Myers and LaurenWatts.
