Funeral services for the Rev. Gordon Coker, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service,with burial at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery inBrookhaven.

Visitation was Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

The Rev. Coker, 57, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, JesusChrist, on Sept. 2, 2010, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center inJackson.

He was born in Pike County on Jan. 7, 1953, to Paul G. Coker Sr.and Doris Coker Pezant.

Before receiving the call to the ministry, he owned and operatedCoker Timber for 22 years. His love for the Lord and missions ledhim to the Guarayo Indians in Bolivia. He served as the pastor ofRamah Baptist Church for seven years and was currently serving aspastor of Springfield Baptist Church in Natchez.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Betsy Cupit Coker; hisdaughter, Paige Coker and fiance, Joey Campo; his sons, Paul CokerIII and Tyler Garret Coker; his mother, Doris Coker Pezant; hisstepfather, Joe Pezant, of McComb; his sister, Darlene Coker East,of Houma, La.; and his brother, Donnie Coker, of McComb.

Donations can be made to the Bolivian Fund at Friendship BaptistChurch.
