Lady Bears top Wesson

Haley Ainsworth collected four singles in leading West Lincoln’sLady Bears to an 8-5 comeback win Tuesday against the Wesson LadyCobras in slowpitch softball action. Visiting Wesson had carried a5-2 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning before the Bearsrallied for four runs.

West Lincoln (6-5) resumes play Thursday, hosting North Pike.Junior varsity action starts the twinbill at 5 p.m. Wesson is atSouth Pike Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.

Jessica Franklin (0 K, 1 BB) was the winning pitcher. JessicaDelaney (1 K, 3 BB) was the losing hurler.

At the plate, Marisa Pruski and Katie Mullins both singled anddoubled for West Lincoln as Coach Andrew Redd’s Bears plated twoinsurance runs in the sixth. Katie Hester and Alexis Cook singledtwice. Micah Redd tripled and Franklin doubled.

Bentley Sills and Karli Herrington singled for West Lincoln.

In the JV game, Wesson and West Lincoln battled to a 5-5 deadlock.Malori Hall doubled for the Bears. Peyton Mullins, Karley Smith,Peyton White, Ashley Thomas and Heather Moak singled.
