The undefeated Brookhaven Academy Cougars will be on the roadtraveling to Liberty to play the Amite School Center Rebels (1-2)for their first Mississippi Association of Independent SchoolsDistrict 4-AA test. The game begins at 7 p.m.

In other academy games, Copiah entertains MHSAA Class 1A opponentPisgah at Gallman and Starkville Academy invades McCombParklane.

Brookhaven Academy (3-0) pounded Riverfield 60-6 last week. AdamsCounty Christian School shut out Amite School Center 31-0.

BA head football coach Herbert Davis watched film on ASC andcommented about the Rebels.

“Amite is a very disciplined and improved team from last year,”said Davis. “This will be our first district game, so we have gotto put it together and do our best for the next five weeks.” Lastyear, the Cougars trounced ASC 65-0.

In the victory over Riverfield, senior quarterback Chandler Rogerspowered the Cougars in the air, completing 10 of his 18 passattempts for 207 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, he pickedup 105 yards on 5 carries and two more touchdowns.

Defensively, strong safety Mark Rushing led the Cougars with 14tackles and a fumble recovery. C.J. Duckworth followed with 12stops.

Copiah (1-1), coached by Scotty Cline, is looking to rebound thisweek in preparation for the Pisgah Dragons.

The Dragons (3-0) come to Gallman undefeated after crushingThomastown 34-6 last Friday.

In the loss to BA, two weeks ago, Colonel junior running backKelton Smith powered the offense, rushing 17 times for 98 yards.Devin Harper followed with 87 yards on 15 carries.

Last year, the Dragons beat the Colonels 21-7.

Parklane (1-1), coached by Bo Milton, is fresh from an open datelast week and prepares for the Starkville Academy Volunteers.

The Volunteers (0-3) are winless in three games coming into McCombafter losing to Heritage Academy 22-6 last Friday.

In the win over Centreville, two weeks ago, Pioneer seniorquarterback Brandon Austin led the offense; rushing for 165 yardson 19 carries and a touchdown. Defensively, senior lineman HunterRay led all tacklers with 12 stops.
