Lady Cats rally past McComb

MCCOMB – Bradi Davis doubled and singled as Bogue Chitto’s LadyCats rallied for eight runs in the top of the seventh inning andbeat McComb 8-3 Monday in slowpitch softball action. Kerri McGehee(1 K, 2 BB) was the winning pitcher.

Leyton Terrell (1 K, 1 BB) absorbed the loss for McComb.

“McComb came out hitting the ball and outplayed us at the plate forsix innings,” said BC coach Scott Leggett. “We finally showedconfidence in the seventh inning. If we would play like that in theother innings, we would make things a little simpler.”

Leggett’s girls (18-5, 2-0) host North Pike today, starting with ajunior varsity game at 5 p.m.

At the plate, Josie Porter doubled for the Cats. Adrienne Wallace,Darcy Miller, Toy Smith, Hailey Estess and McGehee singled.

McComb got three singles apiece from Megan Coney and DesireeMallory. Raneka Felder doubled. Kelsey Daniels and Danielle Farnumsingled.

The Lady Tigers committed six errors in the setback but took a 3-0lead in the second.

In the JV game, Christian Black hit a fence-clearing home run andthe Bogue Chitto Lady Cats cruised to a 6-2 junior varsity win overMcComb. Shelby Crosby (5 K, 2 BB) was the winning pitcher.

Hailey Estess and Alana Nettles each had two hits for the Cats.Lauren Watts, Kacey Leggett, Lauren Wallace and MarshonikiqueBlackwell singled.
