The stories have been written and the photos taken. The ads havebeen sold, prepared and proofed. The presses have rolled and stacksof freshly printed newspapers wait to be delivered.

It’s carrier time at The DAILY LEADER. In observance ofInternational Carrier Day, LEADER staff took time Friday torecognize the contributions of the independent businessmen andwomen whose duty it is to ensure the newspaper reaches itsthousands of destinations every day the presses roll.

Whether the destination is a newspaper stand, convenience storerack or a subscriber’s home, carriers play an instrumental role inseeing that newspapers arrive where they need to and when they needto on a daily basis. Carriers represent the final and importantturn in the publication process that has already involved manypeople before the newspapers reach their delivery vehicles.
