Fred Lucas Jr., 84, of Terry, died Oct. 29, 2010, ofcomplications from pneumonia.

Visitation was 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at ChancellorFuneral Home in Byram. Services will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31,in the funeral home chapel with interment at Bethesda BaptistChurch Cemetery in Byram.

Fred was born March 24, 1926, in Brookhaven, and was a longtimeresident of Jackson. As a proud United States Navy veteran, heserved in both World War II and the Korean conflict. After militaryservice, he worked for many years at Vickers and retired fromSiemens.

He was a 32nd-degree Mason with James A. Myers Lodge No. 619, amember of the Scottish Rite, and American Legion Post No.112.

Friends and family include his wife, Nell Myrick Lucas, of Terry;two daughters, Freda Lucas Bates and husband, Keith, of Madison,and Debbie Lucas Clark and husband, Robert, of Stringer; threegrandchildren, Lisa Bates Parenteau and husband, Scott, ofGluckstadt, and Cain Clark and Quade Clark, of Stringer; hissister, Lillie Mae Lucas Merrill, of Brookhaven; his brother, JerryLucas, of Brookhaven; and close family friends, Ed and Tina Pace,of Edwards.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Shriners Hospitalsfor Children.
