Bogue Chitto sweeps Enterprise

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Bobcats and Lady Cats made aclean sweep Friday night in basketball action at R.L. “Bob” CalhounGymnasium against their county rival the Enterprise YellowJackets.
The Lady Cats cruised to a 69-37 win over the Lady Jackets. In theboys’ game, Bogue Chitto managed to outlast the Jackets in thefourth quarter and hold on to a 53-46 victory.
Bogue Chitto resumes action Tuesday hosting the Wesson Cobras.Tipoff begins with the girls at 6 p.m., followed by the boys.
Enterprise will have a few days off before returning to action asthey prepare for the Lincoln County Round-Robin Tournament thatbegins Thursday at Bogue Chitto.
Bogue Chitto 69, Enterprise 37
Bogue Chitto (6-1) had four players to score in double digits assenior point guard Josie Porter pumped a game-high 21 points tolead the way. She also collected 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 4assists. Darcy Miller provided 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.Senior post player Tearon Rogers contributed 12 points and grabbed7 rebounds. Aneshia Dillon had 10 points.
“We played really well defensively,” said BC coach Christi Terrell.”We hustled and had a very good first half.”
Caroleah Brister was the top scorer for Enterprise (5-6) with 10points and crashed the boards for 9 rebounds.
“We just did not shoot well,” said Enterprise coach Jill Nations.”We missed too many open shots. Bogue Chitto has a very good andtalented team.”
Bogue Chitto 53, Enterprise 46
Senior small forward Germie Martin chipped in 11 points to lead theBobcats (4-3). Michael Harris provided 10 points and grabbed 6rebounds.
“We played very well tonight,” said BC coach Jeremy Harrell. “Wemanaged to change up our lineup to help get our younger playerssome experience and it worked really well. Tevin Tobias had a biggame for us as he contributed a lot both offensively anddefensively.”
Sam Furr had a career performance to lead the Jackets (1-10) as hefinished with a double-double scoring 24 points and snatching 14rebounds. Nathan Foster contributed 10 points, 3 steals and 3assists.
“I am very proud of the guys,” said Enterprise coach John Knight.”They worked and played really hard. We just did not shoot ourfreethrows to well at the end.”
In the junior varsity action, the Lady Cats crushed Enterprise37-15. Earinesheia Dillon led Bogue Chitto with 12 points. The LadyJackets were lead by Brittany Moak with 4 points.
In the boys’ action, Bogue Chitto hammered the Jackets 29-13. FrankThigpen pumped in 15 points to lead the Bobcats. Enterprise was ledby Dakota Richardson with 6 points.
