Funeral services for Johnnye Merle Ferguson Martin, of Wesson,are 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Zion Hill Baptist Church inWesson, with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Homeon Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Martin, 82, passed away at rest at home on Dec. 6, 2010, aftershe courageously battled cancer with the same integrity and gracewith which she lived. She was born in Caseyville on Aug. 3, 1928,to McD Ferguson and Maggilee Mixon Ferguson.
She worked a number of years in accounting in the business field.She was a devoted wife and the best, loving mother. She was amember of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She married the love of herlife, Charlie A. Martin, in 1949.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister, Alla MacJordan; and her brother, Freddy Ferguson.
Survivors are her husband, Charles A. Martin of Wesson; her son,Charles Ray Martin and his wife Sheila of Vilonia, Ark.; herdaughter, Linda (Lynn) Holloway of Wesson; and her brothers,Wallace Ferguson and his wife Pauline, and Maloye Ferguson and hiswife Montez. Special in her heart are her granddaughters, JillMartin and Raegan Foster; and five great-grandchildren, Caitlyn,Rebekah, Abbigail, Cheyenne and Damien. She is also survived by herextended family, Lucille Keys, Ann Tucker, Mary Nell Martin andSusia Prine; and her nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Hill BaptistChurch Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
