Funeral services for the Rev. James P. Biggs, of Brookhaven, are11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 24, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel onNatchez Drive, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

The Rev. Biggs, 84, died Dec. 22, 2010, at G.V. (Sonny) MontgomeryVA Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in Hickory on Jan. 27,1926, to John Biggs and Tinie Jeter Biggs.

He was a retired Baptist minister and had pastored at Wooten ChapelBaptist in Cahaba Heights, Ala., First Baptist Church in McNeill,and most recently at Northview Baptist Church in Brookhaven. He wasa member of Grace Independent Baptist Church. He was veteran of theUnited States Army and served during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and his son, Jimmy(Pam).

Survivors are his wife, Quinelene; his sons, David (Linda) and Wade(Joanna); his daughters, Freda Hawthorne and Kim Posey (Steve); his11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of niecesand nephews, and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace BaptistChurch Mission Fund.
