The Rev. Gary Don Grammar

The Rev. Gary Don Grammar, 68, of Bogue Chitto, died Dec. 25,2010, at his residence.

He was born in Oil Center, N.M., to James Harold and Lucille PennerGrammar.

The Rev. Grammar was pastor of Waggamon Baptist Church for morethan 20 years and pastor for Johnston Station Baptist Church for 10years. He also retired from the United States Postal Service in1992.

“We came to Mississippi in 2000 and we knew this would be ourhome,” said Mrs. Grammar.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Doyle WayneGrammar.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ada L. Grammar of BogueChitto; two daughters, Lou Ann Nichols and her husband William ofGretna, La., and Janie Dawn Montecino and her husband Lynn Charlesof Bogue Chitto; one brother, Dennis Warren Grammar and his wifeCarol of Marrero, La.; two grandchildren Ashley Lynn Grammar andBrittany Lynn Montecino; and numerous nieces, nephews relatives andfriends.

Visitation was held at Johnston Station Baptist Church on Mondayfrom 5 until 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of theservice at 2 p.m., with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev.Glenn Bird will officiate. Jones Family Funeral Services in McCombis in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers are Jayson Grammar, Jayson Grammar Jr., Reggie Savoie,Mike Davis, Gregg McCaskell, Gilbert May and Ken Smith. Honorarypallbearers are Hershall Tidwell, Herman Johnson, Fred Smith andW.D. Dyson.
