Carolyn Washburne Perkins, 81, died peacefully at her residenceon Dec. 28, 2010.

A private family graveside service will be held at Palms MemorialPark in Sarasota, Fla., on Jan. 5, 2011.

She was born on May 15, 1929, in Syracuse, N.Y., to GeorgeWashburne and Leona Johnson Washburne.

She was a successful mother and wife during the years of raisingher children. Upon the death of her husband, James L. Perkins, sherelocated to Brookhaven, from Sarasota. In Brookhaven, she enjoyeda second career as secretary with Mullen Exploration for 17 yearsuntil her retirement in 2002.

She is survived by her three children, Linda Crozier and herhusband Craig of Brookhaven, Jim Perkins and his wife Dee ofBainbridge Island, Wash., and Bob Perkins and his wife Pam ofMontgomery, Ala. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 23great-grandchildren.
