JACKSON – Center Anna Katelyn Mangold sacked 15 points and 12rebounds in leading the Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars to a 54-46Saturday win against Hillcrest Christian. Terah Winborne chipped ina double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

In the varsity boys game, Hillcrest spanked the Cougars 76-48, ledby Preston Haynes with 23 points.

BA resumes play Tuesday at Central Hinds in Raymond.

The BA girls (15-2) got 13 points and 7 rebounds from Laura BethWright, plus 3 steals. Marian Allen made 5 assists.

The BA boys (8-7) got 19 points each from Sidney Chaffin and GagePosey. Brock Smith and Chaffin each had 6 rebounds. Posey had 5boards. Jeff Rushing made 3 assists.

BA was slowed by 14 turnovers.
