Estella Lavern Marbury Powell, 85, of Jayess, died Tuesday, Jan.11, 2011, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 14, atJayess Baptist Church in Jayess, with burial in the churchcemetery. Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 13 from 5 to 9 p.m. atthe church.
Mrs. Powell enjoyed spending time and playing card games with hertwo special friends, Martha O’Quinn and Vondell Cothern. She lovedher dog, Belle and she was a devoted Saints and Yankees fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and May Marbury;her husband, Gerald Powell; her daughter, Sandra Freeman; hergranddaughter, Becky Powell; and her two brothers, Charles Ray andEdward Marbury.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy and Jackie Powell of Jayess;daughter, Patricia and Glenn King of Jayess; brother, GeromeMarbury of Birmingham, Ala.; grandchildren, Melissa and Tim Renfroeof Brookhaven, Anna and Michael Watts, of Jayess, Brian King ofJayess, Brad and Ashley King of Hattiesburg, Pat and PhyllisFreeman Summit, and Dale and Steven Martin of Summit; hergreat-grandchildren, Alex and Samantha Powell, Haley Renfroe, ErikaWatts, Brady Watts, Jessi Powell, Austin Martin and Sandy Freeman;and her great-great-grandchildren, BrookLynn Powell and RipkenPowell.
Pallbearers are Brian King, Brad King, Michael Watts, Tim Renfroe,Pat Freeman and Alex Powell.
Honorary pallbearers are Keith Marbury, Mickey Marbury, AustinMartin and Josh Cothern.
