Memorial services for Marion Stewart Godbold, of Brookhaven, are11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, at First United Methodist Church withprivate burial in Rosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven. BrookhavenFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 9:30 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Godbold, 86, died Jan. 22, 2011, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Ripley, Tenn., on March21, 1924, to Will Stewart and Daisy Bayne Stewart.

She worked at Godbold Insurance Agency, Millane’s Gift Shop and washostess at First United Methodist Church, where she was a longtimemember. She was a member of the Wildwood Garden Club, EveningCircle club, Junior Auxiliary, Mother’s Culture club, Puckihuddleclub and Money Managers club. She was a graduate of WhitworthCollege in Brookhaven.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, LawrenceRea Godbold.

Survivors are her daughter, Nancy White and husband, Harold, ofCleveland, Tenn.; her sons, Stewart Rea and Steven LawrenceGodbold, both of Brookhaven; her sisters, Jean Morris, of Marietta,Ga. and Nancy Blankenship and husband, the Rev. Dr. PaulBlankenship, of Memphis, Tenn.; her two grandchildren, AndrewLawrence White and wife, Bethany, of Hixson, Tenn. and Laurie WhiteClifton and husband, Chip, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; her twogreat-grandchildren, Maddie Grace and Mia Hope White, both ofHixson, Tenn.; and her seven nieces and nephews.

Those who loved her most say Mrs. Godbold was best known for herpositive attitude, great sense of humor and strong faith inGod.
