Funeral services for Mary Christine Thetford Harris Boren, ofWesson, are 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13, at Brandywine UnitedMethodist Church in Pattison, with burial in Pleasant Hill ChurchCemetery in Brookhaven. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is incharge of arrangements.

Mrs. Boren, 85, died Feb. 5, 2011, at Hardy Wilson MemorialHospital in Hazlehurst. She was born in Mississippi on Aug. 28,1925, to Walter Lee Thetford and Ruth Kelly Furr Thetford.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Brandywine MethodistChurch. Mrs. Boren was very active in the garden club, church choirand was always planning family activities. She loved to travel,play the piano and sing, cook, meet friends at Porches Restaurant,and sit on the porch and swing with her dog, Buttercup. She was amaster seamstress and loved to crochet. She enjoyed woodworking,painting, and many arts and crafts. She enjoyed watching the GameShow Channel for many years and also enjoyed playing various cardgames. But most of all, she enjoyed being with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Walter and Ruth Thetford;her brother, Ray Thetford; and her first husband, MackHarris.

Survivors are her daughters, Babs Harris Wood and husband, Bubba ofHazlehurst, Robyn Harris Hullihan and husband, Russ of Washougal,Wash., Dollie Harris DeRoche and late husband, Bruce of Mandeville,La.; her sisters, Frances Thetford DelRosso of Boise, Idaho, andBetty Ruth Thetford Currie and husband, Donald of Brookhaven; hergrandchildren, Chris Viramontez and wife Teresa, Dona Pell andhusband Michael, all of Wesson, Brandi Gremillion and husband, Joeyof Crystal Springs, Jessie DeRoche Pindell of Mandeville, La., AmyPower and husband, Bruce of Hemet, Calif.; her great-grandchildren,C.J. Viramontez, Luke Greenlee, Aimee Vanderford, Rosie Wilson,Ashley Pell Watts, Kayla Pell, Kelsey Pell, Carly Fleming, TreFleming, Brandon Gremillion, Connor Pindell, Tayler Rae Hagedorn,Hallie Hagedorn, Landon Power, and Maykalie Power; and her fivegreat-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brandywine UMC in careof Babs Wood, 1028 Beall Road, Hazlehurst, MS 39083.
