Myrtle Crossley

Myrtle Crossley was born in Auburn, Miss., to Leander and AdaCrossley and was a devoted sister to Norris Sr., Annie, Leander andRomeo.

Her career before retirement included 20 years as an executiveassistant with the Agency for International Development, U.S. StateDepartment, which took her all over the world: the Sudan (1962),Iran (1964), Yemen (1966), Afghanistan (1967), South Vietnam(1969).

She returned to her home in Brookhaven in 1974 and was activelyinvolved with the ACBL, Board of Elections, Food Pantry,Ministerial Association and the Mississippi School of the ArtsFoundation.

She is survived by her loving niece, Lori Crossley; her godson,Aaron Washington; her goddaughter, Marsha Fairman; as well asnumerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 11a.m., at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 712 S First St., in Brookhaven.
