Lady Bears rip Loyd Star

The West Lincoln Lady Bears scored 12-runs in the bottom of thefifth inning to secure a 15-5 win over visiting Loyd Star LadyHornets Friday night.

The Lady Bears return to action Tuesday as they travel toHattiesburg to battle Sacred Heart. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m.followed by varsity at 6 p.m.

Micah Redd (9K, 5BB) was the winning pitcher for the Lady Bears.Bonnie Burks (4K, 4BB) absorbed the loss for the LadyHornets.

Malori Hall, Beth Montgomery and Karly Smith were the leaders forWest Lincoln as each hit a double and a single apiece. Alexis Cook,Katie Hester and Bentley Sills hit two single each. Haley Ainsworthhit three singles. Marissa Pruski belted a double. Redd hitsafely.

“Glad to get the win,” said West Lincoln coach Andrew Redd. “Thegirls played hard and put together a good string of hits in thefifth inning.”

Adriean Emfinger led the Lady Hornets with a triple. Hannah Smithcontributed two singles and Raigan Smith recorded one hit.

In JV action, the Lady Bears edged the Lady Hornets 5-4 as BriannaFauver led West Lincoln with a home run and a double. Lexie Butlerwas the offensive leader for Loyd Star with a double.
