Funeral services for Annie Ruth Smith, of Brookhaven, are 4 p.m.on Thursday, March 31, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive,with burial in New Sight Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 2 until 4 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Smith, 82, died March 29, 2011, at Brookmanor Nursing Home.She was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 25, 1928, to Lonnie andElzodia Smith Allen.

She was retired from the City of Brookhaven and a housewife. Shewas a member of Brookway Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Earl J.Smith; her son, Melvin L. Smith; her sisters, Fannie Mae Jackson,Winnie Covington and Myrtis Robertson; and her brothers, PercyAllen and Lloyd Allen.

Survivors are her sons, Kenneth E. Smith and wife, Cindy, ofBrookhaven; L. Mike Smith and wife, Carolyn, of Brookhaven; andJimmy L. Smith of Crystal Springs; her grandchildren, Amy Baldwin,Lacey Hibbard, Paul Smith, Austin Smith, Peyton Smith, Sam Smithand Paige Smith; and her sister, Wisie Jackson and husband, C.L.Jackson, of Brookhaven.
