Clarine T. Johnston, 81, of Bogue Chitto, died Monday, April 18,2011 at Aston Court Retirement Center in McComb.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Jones FamilyFuneral Services in McComb and will continue Wednesday atMontgomery Baptist Church from 1 p.m. until services there at 2p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The Revs. Mike McKey and Bob Lynch will officiate.

Mrs. Johnston was born January 24, 1931, to Eugene Thornton andBessie Nettles Thornton of Franklin County.

She spent many years as a Nursing Home Administrator and many, manyyears as a Real Estate Agent/Appraiser. She was a member of McCombLions Club and served as president. She was also a member of theHeart Association. Mrs. Johnston was a member of Montgomery BaptistChurch. She enjoyed quilting, painting and loved gardening. Shejust enjoyed watching things grow.

Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of58 years, Hulon Johnston; a daughter, Carolyn J. Ducote; ason-in-law, Roddy Ducote; and brothers Winard, Lamar and Mel RoyThornton.

Survivors include a grandson, Clay Ducote and wife Melissa; agreat-grandson, Alex and a step great-grandson, Mason. Sisters andbrothers-in-law; Rita Wroten and husband, Melvin; and Bettye Nolandand husband, J. D. She is also survived by her loving companion ofmany years, Maxine Monley, and numerous nieces, nephews and a hostof friends.

Pallbearers will be Boatner Thornton, Stephen Thornton, MarcusThornton, Stewart Thornton, Rusty Wroten and Elliott Moak.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the McComb Lions Club.
