Funeral services for A.C. Pate Jr., of Metairie, La., are 2 p.m.on Tuesday, May 10, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Tuesday from noon until the time of the service atthe funeral home.

Mr. Pate, 75, died May 6, 2011, in Ethel, La. He was born inMississippi on Feb. 6, 1936, to Lum Pate and Minnie GivengsPate.

He was a business owner in the steel industry and a member of FirstBaptist Church of Kenner, La. He also served in the U.S. Armyfollowing the Korean conflict. He was a wonderful husband andfather who was loved and will be dearly missed.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Boyte Pate; his sons, Ricky Lynn Pateand Charles Michael Pate; his daughter, Cynthia Pate-Besselman; hissister, Alfie Bullock; 14 grandchildren; and eightgreat-grandchildren.
