Funeral services for Rosia R. ‘Jack’ Davis Jr., of Meadville,were 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, at First Baptist Church of Budewith burial in New Salem Church Cemetery in McCall Creek. The Revs.Wiley Reid, Harold Anderson and Brad Moak officiated. FranklinFuneral Home in Meadville was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Davis, 84, died June 20, 2011, at his residence. He was born onFeb. 13, 1927, to R.R. Davis Sr. and Virgie Calhoun Davis.

He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of First BaptistChurch of Bude. He was active in local politics and served asDistrict One constable in Franklin County from 1964-1968. He alsoserved as chairman of the Franklin County Republican Party for manyyears.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, Betty Ann;and his brother, Gerald.

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Alice Thompson Davis; his sons,Bobby Davis, of Meadville, and Ken Davis and Barbara Jean, ofNatchez; his daughter, Faye Enzman and Jim, of Meadville; hissister, Virginia Bounds, of Gulfport; seven grandchildren; 12great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Paul Holloway, Ryan Davis, Walt Davis, AnthonyDavis, Richard Thompson and Wes Coleman.

Honorary pallbearers were Richard Wilburn, James Newman, BufordDavis, Darrell Higginbotham, Mike Nash, Jim Enzman, Coley Ratcliff,Philip Godbold, John Ward and Kennon Adams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First BaptistChurch of Bude Building Fund.
