Jay H. Rawls, 81, a resident of Magnolia,died July 5, 2011, at McComb Nursing and Rehab.

    He was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Monticello. He was the son of JohnMarshall and Mattie Lou Boyte Rawls. He retired after 41 years as alab and X-ray technician for Beacham Memorial Hospital andSouthwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. He was a UnitedStates Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of MagnoliaUnited Methodist Church and a graduate of East Lincoln HighSchool.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Paula Jo HoltRawls; three brothers, Charles Rawls, Jimmy Rawls and BillyRobinson; and three sisters, Bertile Grace, Willie Rea Myers andMildred Notaro.

    He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and DarleneRawls, of Summit, and Steven and Cathy Rawls, of Magnolia; twodaughters and one son-in-law, Rhonda and Lee Quin Jarvis, ofMcComb, and Sharla Montilva, of Magnolia; one brother, Harold RayRawls, of Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Mary Sullivan, of Oklahoma,and Flora Moudy, of Jackson; 11 grandchildren, Missy Shoemake, KimStutzman, Kristin Howard, Michelle Simmons, Danielle Foster, LynnMontilva, Garrett Caston, Jeremy Robinson, Cory Rawls, YamiMontilva and Ricky Monltilva; 20 great-granchildren, Hunter,Camdyn, Ayden, Allie, Keaton, Prestly, Brennan, Aubrey, Caston,Zeke, Garrison, Ryder, Remi, Ricky, Brooklyn, Hosea, Eddie, Josh,Justin and Anthony; and a special cousin, Betty Jo Kennedy, ofBrookhaven.

    Visitation is Wednesday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McCombfrom 9 until 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will be held at noon atRose Hill Cemetery in Brookhaven with Dr. David Millicanofficiating.
