Memorial services for Alease “Jackie”Dawson Smith, of Brookhaven, were 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, atBethel A.M.E. Church in Brookhaven. Williams Mortuary was in chargeof arrangements.

    Mrs. Smith, 71, died July 2, 2011, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Brookhaven on Jan. 18, 1940,to Herbert Dawson and JoTina Turner Dawson.

    She was retired. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

    Preceding her in death were her parents.

    Survivors are her sons, Edward Dawson and Andre Smith, both ofMilwaukee, Wis., Kevin Smith, of Tulsa, Okla., and ChristopherSmith, of Brookhaven; her stepsons, Frank Smith Jr. and CharlesSmith, both of Milwaukee; and her sisters, Bobbie Hall, ofBrookhaven, and Earlease Dunnigan, of Milwaukee.
